2021 Local Holiday Gift Guide

By Cassidy Formenti

Tis’ the season to get your shop on! Here at Sixty-OneTen we’re all about supporting local, and that includes spotlighting Albertan businesses with rad items we think might take your fancy. This month, we stopped by Majesty and Friends and Hideout Distro — two local stores in central Edmonton — to put together a gift guide with hopes of encouraging you to also choose local this holiday season. Without further adieu, here are eight gifts to inspire your gift-giving this December. And hey, who’s to say you can’t shop for yourself while you’re at it?

Majesty and Friends

Personal Pins ($12 each)

Personalized pins are the perfect gift for your friend or family member that’s not afraid to express themselves, and more importantly, own it. The pin wall at the Manchester location is absolutely magical, but for those looking to shop online, select pins are available here.

Gingerbread Bath Bombs ($5)

A fitting gift for the friend who enjoys their TLC — or one who could use some. These cute gingerbread people smell amazing and are a great addition to a relaxing bath.

Fun fact, these bath bombs are made in-store at the Manchester location!

Quality Mugs (~$25)

We all know a coffee (or tea) fanatic. You can’t go wrong with a good quality mug, and why not support local while you’re at it? These Majesty @ Manchester mugs are an absolute steal at $2 each but are only available in-store while supplies last.

If you’re looking for a mug with a fun message or something a bit more personalized, browse through Majesty’s selection of mugs online, or visit in-store for more options!

Socks! ($16)

Traditionally, socks may be considered a boring gift, but traditional socks don’t come in wiener dog print. Funky patterns and styles of socks are in, and you can surely find a pair to fit anyone’s taste on the grand sock wall. Limited styles are available online, so visit in-store if you’re looking for the best selection!
